Earlier this month, Google announced the release of their latest Pixel smartphones. One of the most staggering highlights of the was the debut of Google’s new wireless earbuds, dubbed “Pixel Buds.”
Google Pixel Buds are the first wireless earbuds of the company, which were developed to use with Pixel smartphones. Unlike Apple’s Airpods, these buds have wires that connect the earpieces to one another. The earbuds’ most intriguing feature is its ability to translate 40 languages in real time.
Google Pixel Buds is one of 2017’s sensational new technologies. It translates languages by giving the users access to Google Translate. With it, conversations between people talking in their native tongues are possible, and convenient.
The Pixel Buds work by pairing with the new Pixel smartphones via Bluetooth. Conveniently, the buds can also be connected to other devices that accept Bluetooth wireless earbuds.
Google Pixel Buds also allows the users to access Google Assistant by tapping or pressing the right earbud
All of Pixel Buds’ controls are placed on the right piece, just like most wireless earbuds. By pressing or tapping the right earbud, Google Assistant will be able to read messages or notify the user through the Pixel Buds.
Technology trends like this stupefy the audience of what today’s innovations can offer. Same with Google Pixel Buds, it had successfully stunned the people with its language translation abilities on the day of the its demo.
In the demo, two people who were wearing Pixel Buds were able to converse with each other in real time using their native languages. One user was talking in Swedish, while the other talked in English.
Google Pixel Buds translate different languages by accessing Google Translate, which translated the languages for each user. Translations were delivered fast with minimal lags, and in appropriate languages.
So far, only Google was able to integrate the language translation feature into their wireless earbuds. Thanks to the existing data and infrastructure of Google Translate, the eradication of language barriers between races is one step away to becoming reality.
For only $159, users of Google Pixel Buds will be able to comprehend 40 different languages. The wireless buds can last up to 5 hours on a single charge. Google Pixel Buds also come with a charging case that can hold up to 24 hours of battery life. For now, the Pixel Buds are only available for preorder.
