There’s only a handful of people that are naturally good with business. They don’t only think differently from everyone else, they also act differently. They possess the personality and the mindset to build something and develop it into something bigger. But being an original thinker doesn’t always equate to being a business genius. So if you want to make sure, check the list of 12 signs that could confirm that you should be starting a business:
1. Your family is composed of people who are just unable to work for someone else. Your parents are probably self-employed or business owners themselves. Although this isn’t the absolute truth, most successful businesses worldwide came from family-owned companies. Take Comcast, Ford, and Wal-Mart as an example.
2. You’re someone who always questions why people do certain things that they do. You aim to understand things better to make those things even better.
3. You are optimistic and confident in your instincts. There are not a lot of entrepreneurs who are known to be pessimistic and self-deprecating. Most businessmen are very confident about their decisions, actions, and ideas which makes other people confident in them as well.
4. You don’t settle for no as an answer. Entrepreneurs don’t give up, at least not that easily.
5. You have great people skills and have the natural ability to build partnerships out of nowhere. You may notice that people naturally gravitate towards you in bigger crowds and this could be because of your innate charm or exuding charisma, traits that are valuable in the world of business.
6. You’re a dropout like the geniuses Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg.
7. You are aware that job security does not end with being a regular employee. Putting up a business has its fair share of risks and possible unemployment, but natural entrepreneurs know when it’s the right time to take risks and go on their own.
8. You’re highly competitive but are open to the idea of losing. You know that being successful comes with some inevitable failure and that just makes you even more prepared to come back up.
9. You can work for more than 60 hours a week and not feel like you did enough. It may not be the healthiest thing to do but being productive just keeps you going.
10. You have the need to be in control. You probably like to oversee everything that’s going on around you to see if there’s something better that you can do.
11. You know a great opportunity when you see it. And I’m not talking about knowing if an item on sale is a great buy, but being able to distinguish the potential of a product or a service even if it’s out of season.
12. You tend to choose the logical approach more than the emotional one when it comes to solving problems. You basically treat things like a big puzzle that can be and should be solved.
You may not have all 12 signs, or you may have all of them and more. Either way, gaining success in whatever you do starts and ends with you. With the right mindset and opportunity, getting into business can be as easy as bringing that idea into reality.
